The latest Apple rumours suggest that the MacBook range will be updated in September of this year. However, it is towards the smaller end of the range that is causing the most interest.
Early on this year rumours were rife that an iPad Pro was on its way with a 12” screen. However, last month these rumours were starting to be dispelled as it is thought that such a product would be incompatible with the existing iOS ecosystem.
So instead speculation is now turning to the MacBook Air. The latest rumours are suggesting a 12” MacBook Air with Retina Display will be hitting our shelves around September this year. It is thought that the new model would come without a fan assembly and feature a redesigned trackpad.
If the 12” model was to be produced it is unclear what Apple would do with the existing 11 and 13” MacBook Air’s. The obvious conclusion is that they would be scrapped allowing Apple to provide 12, 13 and 15” MacBook models with Retina Displays across the Air and MacBook Pro range.
