Last week the announcement that iPad users around the world have been waiting for, finally came. Office for iPad is finally here.
Microsoft has launched Word, Excel and Powerpoint onto the App Store and each of them has been optimised for touch-based controls. It was no surprise to see that within hours of the launch, Word became the most downloaded application for iPads in Apple’s app store. Excel and Powerpoint were the third and fourth most popular free app download.
This popularity shows just how much customers have been waiting for Microsoft’s signature Office products to arrive onto their iPads.
During recent times Microsoft has faced a lot of criticism for not offering the software until now. This move is seen to be driven by new CEO Satya Nadella and represents a change from Steve Ballmer who wanted Office to arrive on a Windows touch platform first.
Users wanting to only view and present documents can use Office for iPad without charge, but an Office 365 subscription is still needed to edit them. Small businesses are, however, offered a discounted annual rate of £39.60 per user for up to 25 workers.
Undoubtedly this move will be popular with businesses across the Midlands. With Office now available on the iPad contact us today to discuss our great deals on 0121 285 0098 or email info@localhost
